An Authentic Experience In Kota Kinabalu
While visiting the capital of Sabah, Kota Kinabalu don't miss an authentic experience. D'Place restaurant has a large buffet selection and also an A la carte menu. There is nothing like trying the local cuisine when you visit a different country. Have you ever tried a Butod? The grubs can be ordered raw or cooked. On this occasion, Mr H went for the fried version which was said to be warm. Here's what he thought of this unique local delicacy.

Climbing Mount Kinabalu and Visiting The Surrounding Areas
Mount Kinabalu is located two hours' drive from Kota Kinabalu city centre. The highest peak in Sabah (Borneo) and Malaysia at 4,095 metres (13,435 feet), it is the 20th highest mountain in the world. You can climb Mount Kinabalu, a spectacular 10 million-year-old mountain, and explore the wonders around it.

Sandakan's Hidden Treasures You Don't Want To Miss
Sandakan was once known as Elopura, the old colonial capital of Borneo. But now it’s known as a base to visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. You can also visit one of the oldest buildings, St Michael’s and All Angels Church. Sandakan’s hidden treasures include Little Hong Kong and Kg Pukat Fisherman's floating village. There is even an English Tea House.
We loved our stay at the eco Bakau Bilit Resort, it was a great opportunity to immerse ourselves in nature and recharge our batteries. The resort provides evening jungle walks, morning riverboat trips and even afternoon tea!
