One of the “Great Scots” - Sir Walter Scott
Sir Walter Scott was a literary master creating both poetry and novels. He was loved by everyone and very much respected as it shows today, with the 200ft and 6 inches (60m) tall Scott Monument.

While visiting Edinburgh why not climb the 287 stairs and enjoy the incredible views across Edinburgh, from the top of the Scott Monument?

Did you know that only an hour’s train ride from Edinburgh, you will arrive in the heart of the scenic Scottish Borders? Here you can visit the stately home of the loved Sir Walter Scott – Abbotsford House. Stroll the romantic and landscaped gardens, take the audio tour, and enjoy the grand library housing books that were collected by Sir Walter Scott as a child and treasures such as the ‘lost’ illuminated manuscript of the Legenda Aurea and much more.

One of Sir Walter Scott’s loved views - Scott’s View is Located 8.5 miles from Kelso town centre. The viewing point has panoramic views across the valley, rolling hills in the distance, and the free-flowing River Tweed.
