9 Months In Tibet - Rupert Wolfe Murray
Title: 9 Months In Tibet
Author: Rupert Wolfe Murray

The story 9 Months In Tibet tells of Rubert's courage to travel alone. Firstly to Thailand and onto one of the highest and closed countries of the world - Tibet. Discover the trials and tribulations of Tibet in the 1980s, tales of lust and love, violence, and getting expelled.
I was captured in all the twists and turns throughout Rubert's journey to Tibet. I loved how it instills and inspires wanderlust, how for even the first-time traveler, it is possible to get over the fear of traveling alone and get out there into the unknown and explore the wonderful planet that we live on. I was taken aback by the violence of the holy men and how they were treated by the Chinese officials and the joy of meeting like-minded new friends in the most unlikely of places and the sadness of saying goodbye to a place that had become home.
The book had me engrossed from the start, I couldn't put it down! I was drawn into the events that took place and the people Rupert met throughout his journey. It was all very real and you could relate to the possible dangers, share in the capitulating moments, the sadness and disappointment of having to leave such an amazing country. If you love to travel or are soon to be visiting Tibet or looking for a gift for that special person that loves travel, this is a must-read! It's an honest and real eye-opener with great insights.
